Why
should I use lightweight concrete grade rings?
• Compatibility: The product meets ASTM C-478 - the
nationwide standard specification for precast concrete manholes. Our lightweight
grade rings are designed to be used to make grade adjustments by placing
them between the manhole cone and the cast-iron ring. By specifying our
product, you will receive manholes that meet the full extent of the standard
precast manhole specification used throughout the U.S.
• Installed Cost: Our lightweight concrete rings cost
less and install faster than plastic grade rings.
• Storage Life: Unlike plastic, lightweight concrete
is unaffected by ultraviolet rays. Store our product in your yard as long
as you like - it will not become brittle or crack with age and exposure
to the elements.
• Near zero infiltration:
When installed properly using an asphalt-type strip sealant below each
level, our lightweight rings allow miniscule amounts of infiltration into
the manhole.
• Traffic rated: Use our 4000 psi H-20 rated lightweight
grade rings in either paved or unpaved areas.
• Ease of Installation: By utilizing lightweight concrete,
the weight of a single 2" tall ring is only 66 pounds - easily handled
by installation personnel when installed properly using an asphalt-type sealant. Weights of the 1" and 1.5" rings are even less!
Is the product compatible with other manufacturers'
products?
• Yes - our lightweight rings are compatible with all
locally available precast manhole cones. In addition, the product was
designed to work with all locally specified cast-iron rings and covers.
What type of reinforcing is provided in your
lightweight grade rings?
• We provide circumferential steel reinforcing per ASTM C-478 and
add additional fiber
reinforcing to the mix to increase the concrete's durability.
